Kate Middleton's wedding dress sets a new trend

Ever since the engagement, royal watchers have been placing bets on which designer will make Kate Middleton’s $50000 wedding gown. Katrina Szish spoke with Rebecca Jarvis on Kate’s dress and what it means for the future of bridal gowns.

After her wedding ceremony and luncheon, Catherine Middleton changed from her Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen wedding dress into an evening gown by the same designer for her nighttime reception hosted by Prince Charles at Buckingham Palace. The strapless satin gown featured a sweetheart neckline, circle skirt, and an embellished waistband. The new Duchess of Cambridge paired the dress with a cropped white mohair cardigan. Prince William changed from his Army uniform into a tuxedo. This morning, the couple left Buckingham Palace for a weekend getaway in the United Kingdom. The Prince will be returning to work as a search and rescue pilot and they will celebrate their honeymoon overseas at a later time, the Clarence House said in a statement.

Just weeks ago, Keveza showed her 2012 collection of wedding dresses at Bridal Fashion Week, and her lineup included this porcelain white dress with a lace V-neck overlay and sleeves. Style L.A.: What are you wearing? Reader photo of the week: color flight

There is something about the warmth of the sun that makes you want to ditch the drab tones of winter and pull out lots of playful bright colors. Lucky for us the sun has finally returned to Los Angeles and it's the perfect time to wear a little, or a lot of color.

This week's feature reader photo of the week shows Sydne Summer, founder and editor of the fashion blog Thinkthrufashion.com in a color-block dress and heels at the 7 for All Mankind Aviator party at the Sunset Tower Hotel.

“I've been into the color-block trend this month and this shift dress was perfect to go to a fashion event then meet a date later for drinks,” wrote Summer.

Summer's dress is from H&M, her shoes are Report peep toes and accessories include SEAH Watches Destiny bracelet and an Energy Muse Manifestation bracelet.

Boda Real: Los Principes de Suecia Victoria y Daniel en la Boda de William y Kate

A mi me encantó este vestido y el sombrero que lleva la Princesa Victoria de su Suecia, en compañia de su esposo Daniel Wrestling. Quizá la parte de las caderas  en el drapeado se le debía de poner más atención pero el color me gustó mucho  el sombrero me parece de lo más apropiado sin llegar a la extravagancia.

[FAT] 3 – Dystopic visions…. and DISCO!

“The night battles between two opposing directions in art, performance, design and music: the commercial versus the rebellious. The night explores the ever-changing cycle of trends inherent in fashion, highlighting the contradictory and contrasting concepts of what's in vogue.”

While monarchists donned fascinators in anticipation of a fairytale wedding, [FAT] fans encountered visions of a dystopian future. (Closer to the reality of scandals and tears that have plagued royal couples of late.  I'm not bitter, I'm just awake!)

Deconstructivist videos are paired with piercing atonal music, as we are riveted by the kaleidoscopic work of Janus A Argjahovda from Denmark.  The films, like most of the collections are stark, with minimalist atomic palettes.

Jewellery designers Thad and Naanafya (Garde del Avante) gild Rachel Sim's line with massive silver feather rings, chained and feathered epaulets, and necklace earrings.  For years we have been calling our favourite model Rashel, but a new side is revealed as she premieres her work as a designer with her African name, Saki.  Saki gracefully references her Sudanese background with Kente cloth which she gives new life with expert re-interpretation of African prints.  Styled with bright plastic bracelets and party 'till you drop sunglasses, the disco vibe is fearless and fresh, and brings cheers from the crowds.

Breeyn McCarney shocks the crowd into awed silence as models that look as if Gaultier's paper doilies have come to life as paper dolls, creep along the runway.  Heidi Ackerman attacks a fairly subdued collection with massively gorgeous appendages made of wood veneer, and Anastasia Lomonova (Montreal) has the Egyptian mummy/bank robber look all wrapped up with head to toe body stockings.

The Bored Collective jumpstarts the show with a striptease.  As the performer keeps on peeling, she discards everything including her wig and mask, revealing a hideous skull glowering on a naked body covered in blood red paint.  Uta Bekaia (New York) celebrates the high drama of glam rock with finned leggings, futuristic shoulders and a crucified Spiderman perched on a jewel encrusted denim jacket.  The Haphazard show features models tied up in their own clothes and to each other, with sleeves sewn into leggings, and House of Etiquette breathes new life into fetish fantasies with Vaseline-slick latex hand printed with whimsical floral patterns.

A boldly sensual night has obviously made an impact with the crowd, but I am in a committed relationship with my pillow.  Tonight is your last night to get your [FAT] on – you'll be kicking yourself if you miss it.

Espectaculares sombreros en la boda Real

Lo que más llamó la atención sobre la Boda Real, fue la hermosa princesa y su vestido. Pero, en segundo lugar, y sin duda alguna, fueron los espectaculares sombreros que utilizaron las invitadas de la Boda Real. Cada sombrero fue espectacular y sobretodo originales.
