Kendra Wilkinson narrowly escaped elimination on last night’s Dancing With the Stars, but she and partner Louis Van Amstel held on for another week with their foxtrot to “Yankee Doodle Dandy.” And not only did she dress herself as a walking American flag, she had bright makeup to match! We caught up with the show's makeup artist Melanie Mills for the inside scoop on how she created Wilkinson's patriotic look. “Tonight is the first time that Kendra wore a really red lip, she was very nervous about it,” Mills told InStyle. “She didn’t want her lips to look overlined, so we followed the line with red lip liner and used Nars lipstick in Dragon Girl [$24 at Sephora.com] on top.” Mills then gave the eyes a smokey effect using Illumin8 eye shadow palette in #2 as a base, blending the darker brown #4 color into the crease, and finishing the dark section with the brand’s #5 shade, all available for $40 at Sephora.com.
