- Born on February 12th, 1809.

- His home state is Illinois, but he was born in Kentucky.

- He was a republican president from 1861-1865, when he was assassinated

- His vice presidents were Hannibal Hamiln and Andrew Johnson

- He was preceded by James Buchanan and succeeded by Andrew Johnson

- His wife was Mary Todd Lincoln

- Mary's parents disagreed with her marrying Abe because he had a poor backround.

- He had 4 childen.

- He was the first president to be assassinated

- He had deep depression, even though he would frequently tell stories and joke to friends and family.

- He was the tallest US president at 6ft 4in

- His birth mother died from milk sickness

- His father remarried a widow, and Abe was very close with her

- He ran a store in New Salem

- He loved animals

- He was the 1st president to have a beard.

- He was fond of pets, and owned horses, cats, dogs, and turkey.
