How many calories are in a medium McDonalds fry? Well, if you have the iPhone, all you need is a small picture of the fries and your question will be answered in an instant. The DailyBurn, a company focusing on fitness and dieting, created an app called "MealSnap" that can calculate the amount of calories in a substance after analyzing a photo of the food. The database contains over 500,000 types of food with which it compares the food in your photo to. Only seconds after you take your picture, the app identifies the food and the amount of calories, protein, fat, etc. that it contains. This extraordinary new app can also serve as a diet diary where users can keep track of the foods they eat. The DailyBurn has high hopes for this new app and believes it will encourage people to be mindful of the foods they're eating and the amount of calories they're consuming.
