Mushroom Season

Mushroom season is just around the corner, as little mushrooms seem to be popping up everywhere in the woods. Just the other day, my dad and brother went mushroom hunting and brought home an entire bowl full. After soaking them fully and making sure they were clean enough to eat, my dad got the cooking materials out. First you soak the mushrooms in egg and then roll them in a powered batter of a flour, pepper, and salt mixture and then throw them in a frying pan. After they turn a golden brown color you let them cool and then salt them and they're ready to eat. This makes a delicious fried appetizer or snack that anyone will love. Even though they're hard to find, mushrooms are quite the tasty treat. By: Liz Wortman
