Earthquake Shakes Haiti

The images of the earthquake in Haiti are appalling and atrocious. Already, numerous countries around the world, including our own, have been striving to help those affected. The earthquake, measuring a 7.0 magnitude on the Richter scale, has left thousands homeless, dead, and missing. When the earthquake first hit, the death toll was presumed to be astonishingly high by many officials. As the hours passed and more debris was cleared, their fears had come to life. Those who had been missing were now found dead. With thousands now dead and still more to be discovered, things are looking to bright for Haiti.

Now we must come to their aid. Already there have been several occasions, here at St. Anthony, were a fundraiser, whose primary goal was to donate money to those affected by the earthquake, has been established. If you, the reader, are ever given a chance to take part in one of these fundraisers, then participate. You will really make a difference to someone in Haiti, who desperately needs it.
