Does the Miami Heat really have what it takes to win?

As you all may know, the Miami heat is one of the best teams in basketball today. With a completely revamped roster, they believe they are ready to win a championship. With the best free agency in NBA history this summer, the Heat picked up two of the best players they could buy: Lebron James and Chris Bosh.

Lebron James is the reigning MVP of the league for 2 years now, and with his "decision," he left his home of Cleveland for a championship run. Arguably the best player in the game, he can do it all: score, pass, rebound, and much more. This summer, about every team in the league game him an offer to play, but he chose Miami. Bosh is also a great player, a 5-time all-star, averaging 24 points and 11 rebounds last season with the Toronto Raptors.

Although they gained these 2 great players, they lost a lot more. During the summer, the Heat lost two of their three best players, Jermaine O'Neal, who is now playing with the Boston Celtics, and Michael Beasley, their second overall draft pick in '08. who is now playing with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Besides those two, many other players were cut, leaving Wade, James and Bosh the only players on the roster. with these three using up most of their money, they had to cut back before they went over their salary cap.

Throughout the summer they picked up many new players to join the team. Mike Miller, Eddie House, Joel Anthony, Carlos Arroyo, Mario Chalmers, James Jones, and many others. Because of the "Big Three" these players had to cut back on their paychecks in order to have a shot of the NBA Finals.

But the real question is whether or not the team is ready to win. Coming into this season, the Heat were projected to have the best record in the league. As of now, they are 11 and 8, placing third in their division. And against teams with over .500 win records they are 1-7. One of the best teams in the league should do much better than that against other good teams. Unless they get everything together down in South Beach, Miami could go home without a championship this season.
