Scientology

In Mr. Zaccari's senior religion class, we are now discussing the world's religions. I, along with two other classmates, have been assigned to research Scientology. So, I thought I'd share some of this information with you.

Scientologists are not required to believe in specifics doctrines, only the three principle tenets:
1. Man is immortal and spiritual.

2. The possibilities as to what man can accomplish are endless.

3. Overall, man is good. His primary goal is survival, and this survival depends on all other men.

Scientologists are free to explore their views and perceptions, so they claim truth through personal experiences, observations, and discoveries. Their ultimate goal is happiness, and in order to attain this goal, a variety of practices and ideas are available to them. Scientologists may participate in auditing sessions (to examine their areas of existence), purification rundowns (to rid the body of toxins), or e-meter tests (electropsychometer, to measure the mental state or change of state of the person). And yes, Scientologist's are anti-drug.

So there you have it, a summary of Scientology. If you want to know more, just visit their website, www.scientology.org.
