It's finally getting warm outside again! Let's hope it stays that way for a long while! This recipe can help cool you down and claims it should only take you twenty minutes. Who can resist the sweet, delicious taste of homemade ice cream?!
Frozen Vanilla Custard
- 1 cup half-and-half cream
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 teas. vanilla extract
- 1/4 teas. salt
- Combine the first three ingredients in a heavy saucepan. Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
- Pour into a shallow pan and let freeze to mush (not hard).
- Whip cream. Add vanilla and salt. Fold into partially frozen mixture and return it to the pan.
- Freeze until hardened and serve as desired.
Don't forget, less than a month until summer vacation! :)
