This recipe is sort of old fashioned, but requires less ingredients than store-bought donuts and are much better for you too!




Easy Homemade Donut Recipe (homemade-dessert-recipes.com)






  • 1 egg


  • 1 cup milk


  • 1 1/3 cups sugar


  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar


  • 1 teaspoon baking soda


  • a piece of butter the size of a walnut (about 2 tablespoons)


  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (or nutmeg)


  • a pinch of salt


  • enough flour to roll dough soft




  1. Beat the egg and sugar together. Add the milk and butter.


  2. Stir the soda and cream of tartar into the flour, dry.


  3. Mix all the ingredients together with the flour and salt.


  4. Roll and cut the dough into donut rings.


  5. Fry in deep fat or oil until golden brown.
