Paranormal Activity: Three Alternate Endings?

Paranormal activity may be taking over movie theaters, but I’m being led to believe it’s attempting to take over our minds too. I was talking with a fellow dancer of mine about this movie at dance practice. We both became exciting to scream & freak out over the ending, but as we were talking about it we realized that the endings of each of our movies were different, despite the fact that we both saw the same movie! How is this possible you ask? Well I became curious and researched that there is in fact THREE alternate endings to Paranormal Activity.

SPOILER ALERT: I am about to describe the three different alternate endings. If you do not wish to know what they are, do not read ahead.

Ending 1:

The original ending that was intended for theaters is as follows: Katie, the young lady being possessed by the devil, gets up from her bed, walks to the side where her boyfriend Micah is sleeping and stands over him for a good three hours. Getting tired of standing over him, she walks downstairs. We hear Katie, who is at this point has the devil inside her, scream Micah's name, calling for help. If you listen carefully the screams sound almost demonic (hint, hint Micah?). Micah runs down the stairs and after a few seconds of screaming from both parties, there is complete silence. The viewer is then left staring at an empty bedroom...waiting to see what happens next. You then hear footsteps ascending the stairs. All the sudden a body hits the camera (Micah's) & the viewer sees Katie standing in the doorway covered in blood and holding a bloody knife. Time passes until a neighbor drops by the house to check on them, only to find Micah’s dead body and Katie sitting against the bed with a knife in her hand. The neighbor screams & calls the cops and they come. When they got to the bedroom they see Micah's body & Katie still sitting against the bed, knife in hand. As soon as the cops shine a light on her, Katie snaps out of her trance. She comes toward them screaming and crying, because she isn't sure what has just transpired. Then, when a door slams (the demon at work, again!), a startled cop shoots her dead.

Ending 2:

The same bit happens about Katie standing over Micah's bed... blah, blah, blah. In this ending however, when the body hits the camera this time, we see Katie standing, covered in blood, but she is not holding a knife. She walks over to Micah's body, kneels down next to him and begins sniffing his body. All of a sudden she looks directly into the camera as if she had just noticed it was there. She crawls over Micah's body, moving closer towards the camera. She then tilts her head to the side, gives a demonic smile, and then a loud demonic noise escapes Katie's throat & her face becomes disfigured, resembling that of a demon.

Ending 3:

Still the same thing happens with her standing over Micah's bed, the body hitting the camera, etc. We see her, again this time covered in blood and holding a knife. But instead of sitting against the bed, or kneeling beside Micah's body, she walks directly towards the camera. The only thing you can see is her upper body, she is looking downward. Then, she simply & gracefully pulls up the knife and slashes her throat in one quick movement and falls to the ground. The camera keeps rolling for a few seconds showing the viewer an empty bedroom before the screen goes blank.

*I personally saw Ending 2, but which one did you see? I know for a fact that I HAVE to go see this movie again, curious as to what the other endings are like on camera. These people were clever, huh? No wonder it's the number one movie in America. They keep us coming back by changing the end. But hey, don't be mad at them. We're the suckers that keep paying $7.50 in hopes of seeing the other endings!

*I have also heard that there were more than 3 endings created for this movie, all which will be included in the DVD when it is released.
