So last night I finally got to see one of Disney's most recent releases,
Up. The entire story is about a 78-year old man, Carl Fredrickson, trying to fly his house next to Paradise Falls by attaching balloons to it. What gave him the urge to do so? Well, you'll just have to watch the movie. Anyways, he finds himself accompanied by a range of characters, from an 8-year old wilderness explorer to a talking dog. Throughout the course of the story, Fredrickson decides on what is more important in life, the past or the present. He discovers that one cannot change the past, but the future is open for the taking.
Up is the usual heart-warming, family-friendly Disney movie. But I do believe that the producers tried to attract an older audience this time around. The plot is more complex than, say, Cinderella, and there is some minor violence. It's nothing for high schoolers, but younger (like way younger) kids... probably not a good idea, but the good-hearted comedy is still there. So, needless to say, Disney did it again. I would definitely advise everyone to watch Up at least once, even if Disney movies aren't usually your cup of tea.
